Parents of Michael Brown file Civil Lawsuit Against the City of Ferguson
The fight for teen, Michael Brown, who was shot & killed by Ferguson officer, Darren Wilson, in Ferguson is not any where near over. Brown's parents & Wilson will be appearing yet again before a judge. This time in a civil suit against the city of Ferguson under Missouri's "wrongful death statute,". Representatives of the family has stated, "The have accepted his self defense, we have not accepted his self defense".
There has been many cases that are ongoing with officers killing african americans and then saying, self defense. Many advocates & organizations have come together with marches, public speaking & more in an effort to speak out about this issue. But, we are not seeing a change for the better but for the worst with more killings surfacing in the police departments. One most recent shootings, being that of 50 year old Walter Scott who was shot and killed by Officer Michael Slager.
My prayers is that we all get back to the point where the officers and residents work together in order to keep our cities safe.
