THICKE & PHARRELL TO PAY GAYE FAMILY $7.3 MILLION

Well folks, the jury is in and Pharrell and Robin Thicke has lost their case and must pay the Gaye family over $7 million dollars for copying Marvin Gaye's song, "Got to Give It Up" when recording & releasing their hit song, "Blurred Lines" which sold millions of copies. Luckily, for T.I. only Thicke & Pharrell are stuck covering this bill.

Although Pharrell has had quite a year, mostly being seen in the media as a positive role model inspiring others, Robin Thicke, has not had such a good year. It seems that ever since the Miley Cyrus "twerking" mishap on the VMA's, Mr. Thicke, who is known for his soft voice, singing his hit song, "Lost without You", has been going on a downward spiral. A break up with his wife, Paula Patton, being seen in public with different women, clubbing and drinking. I'm sure the list goes on but, we wish these guys the best. The song was a double hit, on the upside, 7 million split between these 2 guys may not be as hard as we think.

The ironic part to this entire case is that the lawsuit started in 2013, when the guys decided to file a lawsuit against the Gaye family because they were publicly saying that the trio stole the song from Marvin Gaye. This is where they should have use the sticks and stones theory because the Gaye family THEN counter sued, Thicke, Pharrell & T.I. and the Judge cited with the Gaye Family! Oh my how those tables turned.

I guess this should be taken as a warning to all producers & artists, just because a legendary artist passes on, does not mean the family won't COME FOR YOU if you use their music without the proper paperwork in place. :)
